How do I know if I need pads, or pads and rotors?

It depends on measured wear. Pads have a minimum safe thickness; rotors have a minimum safe measurement too, and they can also warp or score. We measure both and show you the numbers — you only replace rotors when the measurements say so.

How long do brake pads last?

Typically 30,000–70,000 miles, but Reno terrain, towing, and driving style change that a lot. Mountain driving and stop-and-go traffic wear pads faster. An inspection tells you exactly where yours stand.

Is a grinding noise an emergency?
